The best part is that we CAN say that about our government. ;)
Until Jeremy Corbyn becomes Prime Minister ...... Then we'll have a branch of the KGB in every "Comisariat" (what used to be called the Town-hall)...... With a great big statue of Lenin outside ........ Funded from the money he get's scrapping Trident.......... Then we'll all have to keep quiet while we queue for a loaf of bread and a cabbage in the mornings.

Ahhh... I assume this Corbyn fellow is of the left persuasion o_O

I hope you didn't take your hands off the wheel to take that picture or I'll have to tell the statzi police lol

Brilliant mate I would buy him a pint for putting that on there

Unfortunately that's ALL they allow you to do :D
No you can say what you want Jim. At any time. You can also stand as a councillor in your city or town. You can become a minister in government or even the Primeminister.

You can also be sacked in double quick time in any one of those posts. Called democracy.

Just to point out to the moderators that the above is fact and not political as politics are not always fact as they can be fiction or even mystical.

Oh, you can pontificate on your { not you personally of course, just a rhetorical statement} soapbox, hold some petty under-office, and tell yourself you're making a difference, go home and have a tea with the Mrs. and feel accomplished. Really now you know you haven't made even the tiniest scratch in the Govt. behemoths armor nor will you ever! Strap in, hold on tight because they are going to take us all on the ride of our lives right off the cliff and into the abyss:oops:............ We're just bound and gagged in the back seat:eek:................Cheers:)

Yes indeed and rather extreme left too, but the good news is that he has as much chance of becoming PM as I have of becoming King of England. Even most Labour MPs don't support him

Wrong Jim.

I can ring or visit personally any of the politicians who look after my well being. So can any of the population within which I live. How about that.

I can also assure you any politician who boobs is very unlikely to be elected at the next election. And if he or she is elected they will be careful not to get out of line.

All that goes on is reported in detail in the paper for all the population to read.

An example. A minister introduced an increase of 200% in road tax. Wow did he remember that day. Such was the furor that a week later the rate was reduced to what it had originally been.

We do not have parties. Each politician is an independant. Plus we do not foster Trumps.

Beat that then Jim :D

Mere trivia my good and thoughtful friend, do you really think that local politics on your I'm sure quant, lovely and somewhat isolated island have any real effect upon the global lunatics that unfortunately control our fates? Come now, I'm sure all your years of life experience have told you otherwise whether you want to admit it or not. As far as Donald Trump is concerned he has tapped into a growing feeling of abandonment and betrayal by our so called govt. of by, for and of the people. This is a natural expression of frustration and angst against a govt. that for the last two decades has ruled against the overwhelming will of the people. The silent majority is finally rising up and that has the "establishment" govt. on both sides shaking in their britches and it's about damn time. The Mrs. needs the comp. now ..........I'll be back....View attachment 119788

Corbyn has friends who are terrorists and he is trying to weaken this country further by getting rid of trident he needs a stern talking to.

A nuked up Iran with ICBM's, Russia on the move in a real and dangerous way, China building island military air and naval bases, the Islamic invasion of Europe, Americas collapsing economy...etc....etc.... all bode ill for our celestial orb. Pessimist, maybe but I have seven grand daughters so being a pessimist is very painful to me but it is what it is..............Jim

That is really hard luck Jim. Being a pessimist. Really hard cheese.

But a white stallion comes charging in a magnificent animal proud and brave he is an optimist. And who rides this wonderful beast. Laurie of couse he is an optimist. The equine beast and the optimistic human gallop into clear and an exciting future.

The poor donkey and its jaded pessimistic rider chase an antipodean route into an abyss from which there is no escape. There only hope is to retrace their forlorn gallop and race on and join in the sunny uplands of a life of eternal optimism. Without optimism there is little left.
