Might try and make this one, as I haven't been over that way for a while.

My Cousin will definitely be there as he is top of your list. He is one of the Red Arrows Pilots (callsign Red Four)

Regards.........Mark

Hi all,

Well the weather held off and it was a very good turn out. Parked right up front on the sand for the perfect vantage point and here are the results. Pics were taken with a fire and forget digi camera with little zoom so appologies for the quality. The line up was pretty good though dissapointed that the Vulcan, Merlin and Chinook couldn't make it on the Saturday. Oh well... In any case it was well worth the wait for the Typhoon.

I think it will be Farnborough next year, better line up I thinks... and will buy a better camera!

Chris

PS - Spot the pics that are not mine!

Southport Airshow 2009

A very good day out enjoyed all the the planes just a pitty could'nt see any more of the ground stalls as iam in a wheelchair roll on 2010

hi chris, glad the weather stayed ok ,looked like you had a good day.Did you buy loads of kits too?or are you saving up for that trumpeter typhoon?! btw just thought, revell are doing one in 1/32 due for imminent release, this will probably be as good(in fact the decals will be excellent, revells always are nowadays) as the trumpeter one,but probably about half the price.Back to the airshow, i saw the red arrows fly past near my house on sunday afternoon must have been on their way back to scampton , all the best tony

Hi Yak,

Yeah it was a pretty good day all in all. Really lucky with our spot - no crowds in front of us other than the pilots! So I was buzzin all afternoon.

Did have a nosey at a stall called Mr. Models from the West Midlands somewhere. All the boxes looked a bit bashed and by reference to internet prices, the guy had lobbed a tenner ontop of the usual asking price. But hey, he was selling them thick and fast to the unbeknown punter. So good on him. I on the other hand held back handing over the cash and shall wait till the 9th November for the IPMS 2009 comp and exhibition in Telford. Hopefully I should get to buy some quid bargain bucket specials as well as the golden nugget, the 1/32 trumpeter Typhoon! We shall see though.

Thanks for the advice on Revell. However, as you have said, I know they are usually half the price of Hasegawa, Academy and Trumpeter - not to mention a third off Tamiya in some cases... though I have always heard that Revell's quality was a big issue and that has always put me off buying them. Please, tell me I am wrong as I would jump at a cheaper but good enough alternative..?

hi chris, ive found revells recent stuff to be fine,no problems with fit ,level of detail or accuracy, and their decals are always spot on.Their recent new tool releases such as the 1/72 gannet and 1/48 typhoon were particularly well recieved by the modelling mags and their 1/32 hunter was a beauty,so its looking promising for the typhoon, might be an idea to wait till its reviewed in the mags before deciding which one to get, could save you a bit! cheers tony

Yeah, I think I shall hold back until the Revell's out and hey, look at this....

Revell 1/32 Eurofighter Typhoon with Full Engine - 04783 - £44.99

and

Revell 1/32 Eurofighter Typhoon & full engine (04783) | Antics Online

Only a month to wait, and this might also be at the Telford Exhibition as well! Shall be nipping into Smith's to see if there are any reviews for the Revell Typhi, but I'm pretty sure I shall be pre-ordering it in any case. Thanks for the great advice Tony you could be saving me a quite a few quid as it's half the price! IOU a pint!

Chris :grinball2:

no probs chris ,glad i could shed a bit of light on it ,if its as good as the revell 1/48 typhoon ive got in my to do pile you should be onto a winner, and with 300 odd parts it sounds very detailed. cheers tony
