Thanks Monica, I'm working on a cobble stone "street" base for displaying in an urban setting, will keep it simple, maybe a bit of sidewalk and just at touch of rubble. A desert board will be a snap, just some sand, a few stones and a bit of scrub brush, will keep sand "un-glued" so to speak so vehicles can be set in nicely\ said:love it Jim,once again you have done a superb job ,
the base looks great as well do like the use of the sticks, and stones,
the whole thing is nicely put together, with nice weathering on both,![]()
Only problem with the "loose soil" scenario is that it must be kept in a safe place as it is unstable\ said:sounds good Jim will look forward to seeing it,![]()
that's a very good point and important one when doing sand/soil base,s to keep some of the same ,
to use aroundd wheels/tracks and even onto the tank or what ever for blending it all together,
Thank you very much Amos, greatly appreciated\ said:First class as usual jim..... You have a fantastic eye for weathering and highlighting, its never over done, always spot on..... Go grab yourself a beer, well earned![]()
thanks Laurie, much appreciated indeed..................Jim\ said:Very nice work Jim Like the effects and the shading not only from light to dark
but also the change in colour. Very nicely done indeed.

Thanks Barry, base is another "generic", kept roadway "soft" so it can be re-used, saves diorama space and gives a nice back-drop to things\ said:Shading is great Jim lovely job all round ,like trees and scrub on base.
Thanks a bunch Gavin, believe it or not but neither kit had a crew\ said:Awesome bub, that is a beasty of an arty!!
Just one thing, where are the crew? It kinda looks abandoned....
Beyond that I dig the subtle weathering and the arty "sinking" into the sand/gravel is a nice touch that adds to the apparent heavy going depicted in the dio!!![]()

T55 or BT5, and I must do some work on my WW1 dio also, OK, one more then I'll put the vodka up for a while and break out some "English Whiskey"\ said:CRAZY!!
That is a pity, as it would have added some more dynamic to an already great build!
Oh well, onwards!! NEXT, please...???![]()
