Just to show the work required to get to the basic stage. More to do on the buildings. Only a frame as it will be covered in timber to represent a Russian village. Now off to do the battle damage and why the tank is in the ditch..

Comments welcome.

Tank is good but this is the aspect of your work I enjoy the best. Probably because you're b****y good at it. Off to a fine start

Evening all.

Much has been done on the village houses, sat outside this morning and enjoyed the sun and the building.Later went inside to carry on.

The bucket in the pond has frog spawn in, so the fish don't eat them when they are small.

Need some village folk I think.

Garden all ready to burst into life. Is that a bee hive - centre left in your photo?
Buildings off to a fine start.

Thanks Jim
The bee hive is actually a pond pump filter, feeds the water, after cleaning it back into the pond.

Looking good, I love seeing how Diorama's progress and how they are slowly built up, chair pulled up and watching along mate, cheers

This afternoon, I managed to set out and glue the first joists . The roof thatch protruded futher foreward that the gable ends. Large supporting timbers were used as timber was plentiful.

Hello all. Much has been achieved.A lot of waiting for the glue to dry on certain sections.

Next the actual roof lines.

Cut the sides and insert the supports for the roof in this one. The first one I just glued the cut sections into place.

These village houses were very basic in the roof coverings; many were just corn or reed. Nothing like we are used to seeing in a thatched roof.

Some even had corrugated iron sheets. Here, I ran out of the material and did one side in corrugated. Sections of timber were used to hold the covering down.

Final trim of the roof to be done before doing the timber washes.

All looking excellent. Up to your usual high standards in building work.

A pump for the filter masquerading as a bee hive 👍😁👍
