discussion Spitfire Mk Vb & Mk Vc

Morning All,

Just wondering what the main differences between these 2 variants were and would it be simple to convert the new Airfix Mk Vb into a Mk Vc? I'd quite like to have a go at recreating this one.

The b and c refer to the wing gun arrangement.

The b had a cannon (Hispano 20mm) in each wing and two machine guns (the a incidentally, had 8 machine guns).

The c wing was 'universal' and could have its gun layout changed, 2 cannon per wing instead of one for instance.

I have not tried to do a conversion myself and cannot help with that but I think it would involve gun blisters that may be problematical.

Barry, Steve. Thanks fellas. Bit beyond me I think. Think I'll get the Italeri Vc, read a couple of reviews and it seems ok and It comes with the trop filter.
