Is it just me or do other modellers have stalled projects? Do they ever get finished? I have a cupboard full of started models, which were purchased with the best of intentions, in some cases with after market bits, started, and then.... stalled.

I am trying to get the enthusiasm to restart my much hacked Hobbycraft Do 17E, my Revell Me 262B also much hacked to make accurate and an Academy Ontos with full resin and PE extra.

The project cupboard is full of skeletons which I cannot bring myself to dump, so how do you get the 'umph' to get going again?

Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh............................ :(

I also occupy that particular boat in that I have a 1/32 lancaster mk1 that I started last year and got stalled and a recent edition the partwork millennium falcon neither have progressed in the last 6 months they probably will get done but can't say when it's a matter of if your minds feels up to it you will do it if it doesn't then until that urge to revisit those stalled builds returns then that's the state they will stay in sorry for the psycho analaysis babble but it's the only way I could think of explaining it and attached is my lancaster build so far not good for years worth of construction

I have a few, I just do a bit on them when I fancy it. I'm not the worried because. I know I will finish them. But this as only started happening since late last year with so many GB and SIG builds I want to do I start one then move on to the next so now I'm just catching up in a fashion

Personally I have no problem to have my stash full of unfinished models...

I'm really serious on my work, so the modeling is a hobby, exactly a funny hobby that helps me to disconnect!!!

Today I'm building a tank, tomorrow maybe I would like to build a bike....the important (for me) is get fun and learn! I don't have to compete with no body, I don't need to give explications at anybody as well!!

Is the perfect hobby!! And the stalled builds are a good sign that you are looking for new things :)

I like polux's analogy. Personally I get annoyed with my lack of modelling time but... You need different stimulation, having a part built model is no big deal, as long as you enjoy your time working on it when your in the mood.

Something about that reminds me of the ladies though. (No offence intended haha)

Variety and spice of life spring to mind. I think you should be looking at it with a different frame of mind

Cool, I have the falcon too mate, I have just shelled out a few notes on some 3d printed bits for the cockpit from Tony on shapeways. I I've been holding off so far, I wont really start until I finish Sarah's voyager star ship, then that will become my background project.

What plans do you have for displaying yours and lighting it? As it comes? I'm going to do a coffee table vignette. Excited much haha

I know some day they will be finished. My converted Revell 1/32 Bf110G (from the 'C') took 8 years which comprised 2 months at that beginning and 3 months at the end. For 7 years and 7 months it languished in the 'cupboard'. Proud of it when it was finally finished though.

Good effort, you finished it and that's what counts haha I can see me joining this club.

I need to finish the 262. Acquired circa 2002 I think... 1 month heavy activity inserting a 5mm strip to the bottom and taking 2.5mm off each outer wing to get the shape right - a lot of effort. At the end of the exercise you have to ask why bother. I did got out an buy a Trumpeter and did zippo to that, and enjoyed the build.

Although I have attached then engine nacelle tops, ( horrible job) I have done nothing else except primed and scribed. Keeps falling out of the cupboard. It's very robust!

I have been waiting for a shoulder replacement since February, that has meant my modelling this year has got less and less.

Finally I have got my date, 10th September so will still be a while before I can continue.

It hasn't stopped me from accumulating a few more kits though.

Hopefully all these will help me with my recuperation, & therapy for getting movement back in into my hand.

On the go are at the moment are:

Revell 1/72 Gato Class Sub + RC.

Revell 1/72 Type IXc U505 Late + R/C

Renwall 1/32 Atomic Annie Cannon.

On the side lines are:

1/32 Kitty hawk OV-10D Bronco + aftermarket.

1/32 Revell He 219 UHU 'Owl' + aftermarket.

1/72 Hobby Boss 1/72 German 80cm Railway Gun 'Dora'

I know how you guys feel. A lack of your mojo can really put a stop to your modelling. I've got two on the go at the moment the Airacobra and the Dauntless and at last I'm progressing with the dauntless.

Awesome stash, very much look forward to the builds when you recover. All the best with your operation and recovery

Anyone got scans, old templates (or a weblink) for a 1:32 scale Hachette Lancaster? I fancy knocking the old girl up in balsa, though cannot find issues 1-4 for love or money... Any help would be appreciated! :)
