Thanks guys.

The rearmost pod wasn't flush up enough to the middle one so I've pulled it apart and cut away some poly, its sort of balancing on edge with a weight on it at the most to dry so I'll get updated pictures tomorrow when I do a bit more to it.

Got to find something for the leg bases and thruster covers... Could possibly be another balsa carving session methinks

Thanks Andy, got a load more done today as I couldn't get out in the garden to manufacture a new vivarium for our ever-growing Burmese python, he's a tad over 7 foot so a 6x2x2 ft viv is a nice interim size until he gets fully grown and needs his own room:)

But anyway, I waffle on, got the rear thrusters and all the rear engine detailing on, plus some little extras on the hull. Will give it coat of paint tomorrow and will post pictures then.

Ok the latest photies,

added a few extra items of detailing to the hull.

Got a decent amount of detail on the engine, thrusters on etc. (before and after paint to give you an idea what was used)

The whole engine will have a dry brush of gunmetal and then a brown wash or two to give it a used look.

Dont have to worry about going overboard on the weathering as the original in the series was in a right state anyway

Now to find something that'll do as the leg bases that attach to the hull ...hmmmmm

Looking super...have you just made your own version or have the detailing, engine parts etc, modelled off the real Starbug.

Si:)

Ive just taken the main look and improvised my own detailing to look some thing like.

if I start to do a perfect replica I get too anal and it ends up not being fun.

thanks for the comment :)

Hi Colin,

Again, I find myself trying to catch up on builds, so sorry Sir, you really seem to have your building mojo at the moment, with the Prometheus and now this, yet another great scratch built ship and one that most of us know...

Now that I have caught up with this one, I shall be following it closely...

Andy...

Thanks andy, free popcorn available at the kiosk if you fancy some :)

Been quietly watching this from 'Up in the Gods'...cheapo seats, if you like...Flicking popcorn on to the posh seats below!!

Great build Colin, all the scratch work up to your usual top quality standard.

Looking good...

Ok then, i managed to get all the relevant detailing on, decals, stickers, aerials, bottom thrusters etc.

Couldn't find any white squarish lettering around here so i got some silver vinyl and sprayed them, they will do. (there's probably loads on eBay, amazon etc but i don't use these sites)

Got a fairly decent colour on as a base, and have just started to lay the black down here and there to form the base for the heavy weathering, will finish it of with a graphite grey rattle-can to feather the edges off and give it a spacey sheen to the dust and muck.

The engine areas had the first dry brush with gunmetal (citadel boltgun metal)
