State of bench !

Some of us can't work in a mess and others can't work if they have to stay tidy.
When we moved into this house it needed a lot of work doing. We employed a plumber and an electrician. The plumber was neat and organised. All his tools were kept together and he cleared up as he went along. The electrician was the total opposite. He put things down and then couldn't remember where he put them. He cleared up at the end of the day. Now the odd thing was they were both lovely guys, they couldn't have been more obliging and their workmanship was faultless. They were with us for a full week and they both despaired of each others working methods.
Bit like modelling really - tidy or untidy benches have zero influence on the models produced.

I’m one of the ‘put it back when finished with’ people, so the only things laying around are model parts. Everything gets tidied away at the end of a session.
The only exception is mid task when I’ll leave the part and the tool in situ to remind me what I was doing when I get back to it.
It’s a habit I learned working in a drawing office most of my career and it extends to every activity I do, be it cooking, DIY, housework...

SWMBO however leaves almost everything half done and open / lid off.

A testament to tolerance!
