That liquid film is new to me, I've heard about using varnish or similar but I will try to get some of this for the future. Have you used it to make your own decals as well? Sounds interesting.

Never used it to make decals but it as saved some ancient decals on some of the ancient kits I've brought in the past I can highly recommend it
