Yup, the front end is finished and ready for paint.
I've decided to put it on a similar base as the "Klein boet -Ou boet" build. Already have atopical photo selected.

Finally grasped the nettle and modded the commander.
I think it looks quite natural. Just gotta sort out the bone dome, the SADF version is simpler without the flared ears for the cans.

I changed the helmet to something closer to the SADF variant which looks more like a load masters headgear.
Anyway, I am pleased with the American style dome.

Hi all, started working on the base display for my G6 build.
Found a photo of it under cammo, on the border in 1987 on Ops Modular. The supporting blurb had photo’s of the G6 on trials “proewe” at the artillery range Riemvasmaak, earlier that same year.

Finally started the Commander, I'm trying a different painting technique this time. Got the colour on, sealed with gloss, now for pinwash.

Well, colour me happy. The commander is done and I have begun pre-shading the G6.
A little dark, in terms of the nutria, but generally pleased.
It's rough, but it does what it is meant to do.

I have finally decided to start throwing some colour at this monster of a kit.

The pre-shading has the desired effect under the still wet coat.

The modified gun mount and the base of the barrel with Mr.Color laquear steel for the recoil wear.

The underside, still layering on.

Basically done from behind.

Turret in the works.

Well, long laboiring G6 is getting closer to the finish line. Next is matt clear, some fuel and oil stains after some powders. Oh yes, the wheels, window wiper and commander after removing the masking tape.

The final flourish will be the base.
