Afternoon all,

I build this kit a couple of years ago (thread here), and whilst I don't typically re-build the same kit, I couldn't pass this up. The original retail price for the kit (going by the box sticker) was £52.50, I picked this one up at a car boot sale last summer for £15! It was untouched with all the sprues still in their sealed bags. Bargain!

With the original build I faithfully reproduces all the carbon elements with CF decals (including the wheels), but with this one being so cheap I decided to have some fun with it and build a motorcycle that I imagine a US rapper or Saudi Prince might own. In other words, bling.

Here's the progress so far.

The frame is painted with Porsche Ice Gray, whilst the engine and rear suspension is a mix of Tamiya TS-21 Gold, LP-48 Sparkling Silver and LP-21 Italian Red. The swingarm, hugger and wheels which should be carbon fibre are LP-40 Metallic Black.

I appreciate this won't be to everyone's taste, but again I'm just having a bit of fun and trying something different.

Nice, is that a bit of a black wash on the engine block to pick out the detail?

Yeah, tamiya panel liner just to pick out some of the detail.

Love ithe idea Bob. That engine is a thing of beauty.

Cheers gents. :)

Managed to get the front end mostly completed, still have to add some decals and plumbing.

That's some lovely clean work there Bob and it's great to see something different. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the colours yet but I think getting the bodywork on will be the moment of truth!

Cheers George. Yep, the fairings should tone it down a bit.

As it was pointed out to me the other day, the scheme is very Tony Stark/Iron Man.

Now you've said that, I can't un-see it! I'm sure there must be a 1:12 scale Iron Man out there to complete the look :)

Afternoon all.

I finished this one up today, pics are int eh gallery. I just wanted to add a few final build pics here.

I decided to instead of using decals for the panel fasteners to drill out the holes and use some AM stuff I had.

Then it was just a case of plumbing up the front brakes, adding the handlebars, tank, headlight, seat, rear fairing, and the side fairings.
