I agree the tail tidy (didn't know that was what it was called) is ridiculous, I did consider leaving it off.

They are all like that by law, as the rear of the bike has to be in line with the rear of the tyre.
Lots of aftermarket ones for full size bikes.

so surely a builder of you calibre? :D
