A twinge in the hand has prevented benchtime, so I thought I'd do some inbox reviews of a couple of recent purchases!
Tamiya need no introduction - being the real kickstarter of the Japanese model Industry.
The Nissan R390 was designed for the 24Hr Le Mans race of 1997 - of the three cars entered, only one finished ( with two complete gearbox changes! ). All four cars entered in 1998 finished, very successfully - 3rd, 5th, 6th & 10th. Rule changes made them ineligible for further years.
Model dates from 1997, although the box has changed.
Sprue shots: - all clean & flash free - no sink marks
I thought the body was in two pieces, but it is one - with odd shaped sprue runners - I bet the mould was complicated!!
Plated sprue - not too bright - more like a dull aluminium
Paint mask for the windows supplied......................
Decal sheet for the three 1997 Le Mans cars.
Instructions in the normal Tamiya style, black & white line drawings - they look very clear - profiles in b&w only, although the pictures on the side of the box make up for this.
