So as I've mentioned before, ever since I was a kid, and especially since I took up modelling again in 2010, I've wanted to get into 1/35 scale armour - I'm not sure why, it must have been all those Tamiya catalogues I read as a kid, and the 5 odd times I tried and failed to join the Army. But for some reason I've always had some form of mental block with large scale armour, where I get to a certain stage, loose interest and then bin the build.

I've started seven kits since 2010, but I've only ever finished this one, Tamiya's cheap and cheerful Panzer II, back in about 2016. The paints are all brush-painted Humbrol enamels. The so-called 'weathering' is Humbrol sand weathering powder (and some 'rust'). I did actually apply another matt coat after these photo's were taken just to flatten down the decals. I also did box in the open bottomed boxes on the kit, and close up all the electric motor holes etc.

Anyway, I hope you like it - I certainly think I'm going to need help when it comes to weathering my Sherman.

Cheers!

That looks very good for a first tank model. The road wheels are all parallel, the track looks good and so does the rest. :thumb2:

Thanks Andreas, that's kind of you to say.

It is a really simple kit IIRC, I did drill out the barrels and add some weight to it to help the 'sit'.

That's a fine looking model Arnold.

Thanks Garry!
