A few shots of my just completed F-16C. Hand painted with Vallejo, AK and Italeri acrylics. Built OOB apart from cockpit details from Kelik and brass/resin exhaust from Eduard. A really nice kit that went together very well. P1018644_DxO.jpg P1018669_DxO.jpg P1018659_DxO.jpg P1018677_DxO.jpg P1018679_DxO.jpg P1018688_DxO.jpg P1018692_DxO.jpg

I admire anyone who still brush paints their models. It's a skill I dont have. That has turned out very well. Great photos too.

Thanks Steve. Many years ago I also used to airbrush, but after a break of something like 28 years I decided, when getting back into the hobby last year, to stick to brush painting. Mainly because I don't have the room to set up a proper spray booth and I wanted to keep things simple. I'm still experimenting with brush painting, but having seen examples of beautifully brushed finished models I think I will stick with it. Of course it things like pre and post shading are not possible (or are at least very difficult) to do without spraying

I have to say that when I am building a model I often brush paint all the internal bits and I find it really relaxing. I think that in our quest for the ultimate finished masterpiece we are in danger of loosing much of what this hobby is about and that is relaxing and enjoying time spent at the bench. One day I may just have a go at brush painting a complete model.

What I have most noticed since returning to the hobby is the vast improvement in the range and quality of acrylic paint. Vallejo and AK are really good and brush on very well making it easier to get reasonable results with resorting to spraying

That's a great result and very effectively photographed. Both airbrushing and brush painting are skills that need study and practice. Both have their advantages and disadvantages but done well both can produce great results. Your brush painting is excellent.

Thanks Jim, nice of you to say so!

That's a nice job on your F16, again, reminding myself, I still haven't built an F16 !
