I built this about a year ago it's finished in tamiya acrylics as per instructions and I added Eduard pe set for the cockpit and engine I also added control wires to the inside and outside the fit on this kit is very good for such a complex build I also added tamiya flying wires which are flat in section very fiddly but well worth the effort might do another one day with a torpedo instead of rockets incidently you get the choice with the kit to do the wings folded and the detail inside the cockpits is terrific right down to the texture of the fuselage covering which is a pink sort of colour PS it's an absolute pig to de dust for photos

Thanks it was something different but very taxing not like building a monoplane as the bottom of the top ring and the top of the bottom wing had to be painted before assembly well that's the way I did it hindsight I might have been able to assemble and then paint sorry about the dust thought I had got it all off before photos

Lovely job, great detail in the cockpit and a lovely looking model. Can you even begin to imagine flying in one of those things in the middle of the Atlantic in heavy weather against such a behemoth as the Bismarck in the knowledge that a single hit could have you in the sea! But then to actually hit the thing with a torpedo!

These aircraft correct me if I'm wrong sank more axis shipping than any other not bad when you consider it flew at about 120 flat out pilots loved them because they were strong and would take a hard landing plus they where easy to fly I read one pilot had to be lifted out on return because he was frozen so bad and didn't have the strength to stand I honestly think we should never forget what they did for us just wish we could do more for them

Nice clean build Roger, I like it a lot. Certainly a very important aeroplane from the Second World War.
