Afternoon all

Any suggestions for an alternative for the above please?

I was looking at some automotive polish but not sure they be to aggressive

You could use Tamiya Finishing compound.

I have used various finishing automotive polishes from Meguiars on models painted in enamels and lacquers; I would be hesitant to use anything like that on acrylic. You will naturally lose some surface paint during the process, so a good base is required.
