Well after the week from he'll at work I thank god its Friday and 7 days from now I will be sunning myself with the missus and our best friends on a beach in Turkey, I have never looked forward to a holiday more, our hotel has 5 star rating on all the reviews in trip advisor, and I am looking forward to the swim up bar. I will be making a lot of use of that.

We just bought some timers for the plugs while we are away on holiday and my missus was reading the instructions and burst out laughing, took me ages to get out of her what she was laughing about, every time she tried to tell me she would start laughing again. They are digital timers and they plug in the wall I kid you not the instructions say "not for use in washing machines or dishwashers" .

Oh don't worry Si SWMBO has got the whole chemists in the suitcase I could probably perform open heart surgery with what's in our med kit, and thanks for the offer but I have a team of top shot SAS soldiers guarding my kits.

Well tomorrow we will be in Turkey yippee my missus has been looking at the weather and it's rain sun mon tue and wed, but hey ever the optimist how often do they get it right, if itvis right we will just have to hit the LMS.

Thanks Si well we are at our hotel now the time here is 1:10 we are ready for bed the hotel is fantastic the staff couldn't be more helpfull, I made a mistake it the September's hol in Tunisia which has the swimup bar but hey this one is right by the pool so it's nearly a swimup bar. Anyway off to bed ready for some sun tomorrow.

Hi all thought I would post some pics of hol on here if anyone interested we are staying the hotel De Maris in Marmaris Turkey the hotel is great can't fault it the room is huge the service excellent everything is clean. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of coming to Turkey, we thought last year's hotel was good but this far surpasses last year's.

It's bucketing it down today so we are off for a full Turkish bath then hopefully, fingers crossed, the sun will come out and we can relax by the pool.

@kpnuts: I hate you! It's just above 10 degrees in Edinburgh and forecast for the next two weeks is.. WET.

Anyways, I've been to Marmaris last year. The place itself is boring, but I do recommend trips to nice places like Pammukale:

Dalyan and Iztuzu Beach (place where salt water meets the river). The beach is amazing.

They're not too expensive and worth every penny, especially Pammukale and Hierapolis.

We were going back to the UK via Istanbul where we stayed for two days. Amazing place as well. Still would like to go back to Turkey to see Capadoccia and Efes

Thanks Si consider that done. Hi blurisz we did the Site seeing last year, we are mostly pool sun an drink, not necessarily in that order though sometimes it's sool, pun and prink or loop, uns and krind, it just depends on how much we imbibe in the local hospitality, but thanks for the info.

Oh well back home this morning now I need a holiday to get over the travel Dalman airport was horrendous, we always have trouble at that airport, but last night was the worst they had to unload 4 people's bags because they hadn't got through the gate in time,(bet they are cross).

Hotel and people as always were great, it's such a shame when they are let down by the airport, I bet those 4 people won't use Dalman airport again, so all the resorts served by that airport will loose out. Oh well I've had my moan the hol itself was the best we've had (and we've had some great holidays, can't recommend that hotel enough, what I would say is make sure you book a private transfer so you get to the airport early, we were one of the first in the queue but they didn't open the check in gate till 30 mins late so was good job we were early. Still it's nice to go away but nice to come back too.
