Hi Guys , THE BUCKET IS DONE - as promised Mr Chairman the said bucket now has a home on my 1st dio it even has vallejo still water in it, am I now a full member Boss ? , on a serious note thanks to the guys who suggested adding moss/damp to the walls I think it looks ok-ish plus I used to rent a flat many years ago that had damp on the inside walls that looks very familiar to whats on the model , also a lesson learned I will be attempting to make my own leaf fall next time - £4 for 200 1/35 leaves does not go far I promise you , and being so small the carpet monster has claimed quite a few. (not far off now lads)

This just gets better Rich, the leaves look fantastic as does the weathering on the walls, much more realistic.

I like it richy that damp/mould has made it look not so "pristine" and more real love the bucket

oh I forgot Damp/mould I have a friend who can sort that ..................................................................LOL

I like it very much Richy, you've captured that Autumn feel really well, my congrats. to you......Consider yourself a fully paid up member of the society ( a privilage granted to only a few mortals)

Well done, and I know it will be top dollar stuff when completed.

Should you need more leaves, get a dead leaf or suitable seed head from the garden (they have to be perfectly dry) crumple them up in your hands until small enough, perfect leaves! I always use this method.

I take on board what your saying Ron and to get the right look I want would cost me about another £30 in laser cut leaves (sod that for a laugh) I would like the mashed up leaves in the gutter look and puddles of water here and there but because I`m so close to the finnish I don`t want to mess up bigtime and spoil everything , and as you have said the figures tell their own story , so apart from a spade in the ground next to the tree and some thin clear plastic for the windows panes (optional- if it looks pants I won`t use it) that will be it mate.

That looks excellent Richy, no-one would guess that this is your first dio, that's how good it is. Just a thought about the leaves, how about using some large-leafed herbs to provide the bulk of the effect with some of the laser-cut leaves on top to look good? That might work. Patrick

this is excellent richy well done!the damp walls look fab too. As ron and patrick have said to keep the costs down try putting something down first and then using the die cut leaves on top to give it a bit more bulk without costing a fortune. Try finding some dock leaves that have flowered and died ,the dead flowers and seeds are a brilliant rusty brown colour and once rubbed off the stem make perfect leaf litter. Ill try and link a pic (but it might go wrong!!) cheers tony . oops that went a bit mental, just google image- dock seeds- i think its on the second page ,theres a pic of someones hand full of them youll get the idea ,cheers tony

You are quite right Richy, too many add-ons might take away the impact of the figures, but as Tony mentionioned Dock leaves, I used them on a diorama earlier this year so I hope you don't mind me posting a couple of pictures? They might be of use to you and others in future as to what the seeds actually look like in use.

Anyway, hurry up with the finished job 'cos we all want to see it pronto!!

Lookin great there Richy, i agree that it looks much more life like with the damp, leaves and er bucket!

Next time you are out doors look for some silver birch catkins, take them home and dry them out inside an envelope placed directly on top of a radiator. When dry you will find all the seeds within the catkins will fall out, they are surprisingly realistic and look like miniature sycamore / maple leaves.

Hi Richy haven't been on in a while and ive just found this it is looking fantastic, i do love the mold on the walls and the leaves look good but i do think you need to add a few more though, this isn't a critisism merley an observation..... oh and a lovely bucket by the way nice one mate.
