Yes,

I remember the Old Tamiya cars too, there some great ones out back then. I do remember the Holiday Buggy well too as a friend of mine bought one when I had my first car...I built it for him and I was quite impressed at what it could on an electric motor.

Regards........Mark.

And for those of you who have been asking,

Here is the NSX as it stands at the moment, just got a few factory stickers left to do and the wing mirrors before putting all my own custom graphics on as per the car in the original pic.

Progress may seem slow but it is summer now and I have been out quite a lot with the other models.

This one should up and running by next week.

Regards......Mark.

Nice buy there Mark,no doubt you will bring her right up to scratch,it makes you wonder why people get rid of stuff so cheap, perhaps they just tire of these things and want to move on ? anyway you were the right person, look forward to seeing the end result.

Thanks Barry,

I will soon have this one finished off...I think the reason this one was so cheap is because this is the Kyosho Superten FW04 ...The wheelbase length is 280mm ...this has now been replaced by the FW05 with a 258mm wheelbase. Most bodyshell manufacturers produce bodyshells to fit the newer sized car which is pretty much the standard size now. Getting Bodyshells for the 280mm wheelbase length car is a little harder now although some manufacturers still do them...Kyosho and HPI being 2 that I know of.

Even so the original retail price for this car was £325, so I got quite a bargain on mine.

And in answer to Adzam.....how are you doing...??, long time no speak..!! That is the Kyosho NSX Shell, it is quite nice and comes with the ready made spoiler and even wing mirrors and windscreen wipers !! 2 full sheets of stickers also included.

Regards......Mark.

Almost Finished,

Compare the 3 Pics Below, The first one is the Real Car and the next 2 are the Model.

Just gotta finish off the stripes at the rear, they are slightly different to the ones on the real car due to the different shape on the rear wing on the model shell compared to the real one.

Mirrors can be painted black at anytime but they stand out better in white, I have not bothered with the bubble type headlights at this stage but can easily do that with a couple of mouldings later on.

All the Graphics were done on computer and printed off...(except for the usual factory supplied ones)

I think I have recreated the looks of the Original Nicely though.

This car will be out on the road on Saturday

Regards........Mark.

what a lovely job you have done there Mark!

your right the wing mirrors do look better in white. What about the line (on the real one) that goes accros the front of the car (presumably where the bonnet lifts up)...are you going to add that?

Richard

Thread owner
Thanks Richard,

Yes I will add that line, I only have a few very minor bits to do before it rolls on Saturday, so it will all be sorted by then.

Regards......Mark

Very slick Mark, the decals really finish the model off nicely.

It is a credit to your skills.
