I was surprised to get an email from the man himself, Mig, it looks like he sent it out to all his suppliers, basically thanking them for their support and reading between the lines, watch this space.

He also pointed out this post on Facebook

For those without Facebook, this is what it says

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL AK INTERACTIVE PAINTS USERS

19 November 2013 at 17:11

I'm Darius T. Cerver, owner of the paint factory that has manufactured the

paint products for the company AK Interactive for distribution under its

label. With this statement, I want to inform all modelers that from this

day forward, we stop completely any collaboration with AK Interactive and

our paints will no longer be distributed by this company. The various

recent events and statements made public by the company worldwide, have

forced me to make this announcement using the same media platform. It is

therefore my intention to report that our entire paint range, including enamel washes

oils, pigments, and acrylics, will immediately no longer be distributed by

AK Interactive. Soon we will announce the company with whom we will

work in the future. It is our hope and expectation to have your support in this new era.

Thank you very much for your time and attention and we wish the best to AK.

Be sure that I will update you shortly.

Hi John,

Any ideas what will be happening with the magazine, will AK still be doing it...

They did, but it looks like he will be back and building a new brand, AK could really struggle now.

So if Mig owns the rights to most if not all the things, then what if anything are AK going to do now...

He'll just get the same stuff made another place. put a new name on the jar and say its much better than the old stuff.

An advert for crisps that was shown on Japanese TV could not have put it better. "Same sh*t different package".

I greatly admire that sort of humour, but it takes commercial balls to risk an advert like that.

It looks like there could be a lot of legal action going on, AK posted this on their fb page

IMPORTANT AK NOTICEAK INTERACTIVE wants to inform all of its clients and dealers, we guarantee ALL of our production and therefore its supply to everybody, this way we are ready to attend any order as usually, satisfying all our compromises.

AK INTERACTIVE denies sharply all the false manifestations that recently appeared on different social media and announces that will take the appropriate legal measures dealing with this matter, trying to harm the good way of this company.

Best reagrds.

Well, to be honest, we don't know crappo about the situation that has developed between Mig and AK. We only have some paragraphs that seem to show AK in a non favourable light. But it is dangerous to speculate on the issues that have developed between the parties involved. Maybe in the future more will come out and we can make an informed choice over which parties are the 'goodies' or 'baddies'. But, from a standpoint of us modellers, this is not good all round as many modellers use various AK products and get the mag etc we need clarification that all is well or, as fickle as modellers are, they will turn elsewhere for products or at least start looking if they cannot trust what is going on.

Shame really that things seem to have gone Pete-Tong.

Si:)
