Just a few thoughts on that terrible fire at Hemel Hempstead at Barnsfield fuel depot, with all of that smoke pumping into the atmosphere what damage has really been done ? with the ozone layer already in a precarious state what surprises are in store for us I wonder ? we are told that the debris has yet to fall from all of that black acrid smoke, where and exactly when will this happen ? in all honesty I do not think that anyone really knows the far reaching effects of this latest disaster, but it cannot be good.

Does anyone else have any more thoughts on this, the clean up costs are said to be in the region of a quarter of a billion pounds, but I honestly think that it will cost a lot more in the long term to get things back to normal.

Above all lets hope that the lessons have been learned, remember this is exactly what happened to the Humber oil company at Marfleet,Hull, who made Humbrol paints, one worker flicked a faulty light switch with dope fumes around..and boom everything went up,can you really insulate electricity in such volatile places, just one tiny spark and it happens.

I often wonder how they manufacture our highly volatile glo-fuel under such circumstances ?
