After completing the 1/24 Huey I finished off some wiring bits for a costume and cleared the workbench as I am away next week. However, with the wife gone to Leeds, I got bored...so, out came a 1/72 Italeri Tiger tank. I wanted a quick build and seen as I haven't done anything rusty for a while:D-it got the full treatment.

Total build time, including plinth-4 hours.

Si:)

Was that one dragged up from the English Channel!? :D

Yet again another good job Si

Lee :)

Hmm I'm gonna have to be a party pooper Si!

That rust has nice colours, but is way too thick IMHO - it looks kinda ' formless '....

Sorry mate :(

Sorry mate :(
Totally agree Patrick, I used this as a test bed for an idea on another model, plus it kept me busy. This coverage will work well on a 1/35 scale hence the test, but in this scale, on armour, nope. Although what Lee has said I think it may work well in a sunken state.

No party-pooper at all, ya big stinker :D

Si:)

Si you are just incorrigible.

Another nice bit of imagination from the "eddisolo" pit. One thing you do Si is to keep producing something out of the ordinary and I like it. Things that I would not think of in a million years.

Very kind of you to say Laurie. As Patrick has pointed out, the covering used looks wrong for this scale, but it has served its purpose as a test bed and as a time filler.

Si:)

You got some nice textures on that mate and it will look great on a bigger version :)

Now that is something you don't see every day, I agree with earlier comment it looks like this tiger must have fallen into the deep river bed or something ( got compleatly submerged and forgotten fo he last 70 yrs and the deep sea divers found it

It's blinking nice Eddie and you have taken rust to a new level it's not over done it's perfect o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

It looks "OK" but if you placed it in an underwater type scene, bottom of a lake? it would make it work better.

Colour is good though-

Nice work Si but I have to agree with Patrick on this one
Sorry:(
No need to be sorry, you are both spot on, I wanted to try out a fine mix and just had the 1/72 in the stash so it was my guinea pig.

Thank Ian, spot on regarding the underwater part. This, hopefully will work better on another project along them lines. Glad the colouring looks okay.

Nice job Si. Won't beat on about the depth of the rust, but it looks well coated and the colours are very nicely done.

Just try to make up some coral bits, add a bit of seaweed and you'll have one heck of a deep sea salvage project! ;)

You managed to get some tiger tank under that rust Si love the colour yes I could imagine that at the bottom of the sea, maybe sitting on what was left of whichever ship was transporting it. Great test piece.
