After reading Peter's thread re his duff decal sheet I thought it only right to post this.....

A couple of weeks ago I bought an Airfix 1/76 Sherman tank, new and sealed for a project I'm working on.

I didn't check the sprues (never do!) and it was only when I came to assemble the bogies I found a wheel was missing, just a blob of plastic actually.

I emailed Airfix and the following day received an automated reply with a reference number.

My message would be dealt with within 28 days and I would not receive any further communication unless there was a problem...Here we go, lost in the bowels forever...WRONG!

Today I received a jiffy bag, compliments slip and inside it's own sealed bag, one diddy wheel!!

Tomorrow I will email them and thank them for a big service for a small item.

Well done Airfix!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ron

They did the same thing for me when my 1/48 hurricane canopy was half missing in the box. They dispatched one the same day that i emailed them for a replacement. It's just unfortunate that the replacement was in the exact same condition as the first one. So much for quality control :(

Good to hear Ron. That's something that Airfix can claim to do better than Tamiya then!

Good for them,we too often see modellers using forums (fora?) to moan about kits and generally bash the manufacturers. Sometimes this is entirely justified, not always though.

It's nice to see some credit being given where it's due.

Cheers

Steve

Have had the same experiance Duff decals. Got a new sheet after a couple of weeks.

Never had to try with the "others".
