Hi all,

I managed to find this a few years ago in a charity shop, it used to be a remote control but all the electrics had been removed, anyway, it's been sat in my loft for some time and I thought I'd give it a fresh look...

This is how it used to look, it's not painted, it's just shiny black plastic...

Complete strip down...

Primed and a couple of coats of silver...

The headlights where two holes with bumps in the middle, I left the bump silver and filled the space with Micro Kristal Klear ( Microscale Micro Kristal Klear MSKK )

I stripped the rear bumper...

I then painted in some lights and used the Micro Kristal Klear for the lens...

Drying on the radiator...

Interior Before and after...

Finished...

Thank you for looking...

Any and all hints & tips greatly received...

Fantastic work again!

It's a Humbrol Model & Craft Acrylic, Gun Metal spray can, I've used it on a couple of other models but I lacquered over it, this time I just left it, look's ton's better this way...

Hi all,

I've just finished the trailer...

To start with...

Stripped down...

I used two pieces of thin Balsa for the new bed...

Taped up so I could paint the edges, the head-board is also made from Balsa wood...

All finished...

Again, please let me know what you think and any hints or tips great fully received...

Thank you...

Something different :)

The finished result is very neat and tidy, i like the flatbed idea (i've stored that for the future:)).

the saying "turning a pigs ear into a silk purse" comes to mind.

Andy agree that gun metal looks great as is! The trailer came out sweet! Great idea using the balsa! cheers Trey

Hi Andy, I know this trawling up an old thread but, that's what the forum is about, searching and looking :D

Anyway, back to the model. Great rescue from the charity shop and a superb restoration job. I like this a lot, think you have made a real success and great looking truck.

Si:)
