Hi all, I too love a good malt, bought a 12yr old bottle of Old Pulteney so I could have a wee dram on Christmas Day. Never tried this one before......half the bottles gone already mmmmmmmmmm!

I'm a Whisk(e)y fan, but most malts seem a bit subtle for my tastes.Ever the pleb.

If that is so Bubba you have experienced the very Adrenalin of the Highlands.

And there is just something about the Highlands. Visited from deep in sasanac places & from the first visit it had a peace & tranquility for me not equalled or yet evaporated by all times visited afterwards.

My first visit was about 1965. Near Spean Bridge we had a Bed & Breakfast. The owners were then pensioners, I would imagine, a lovely couple who looked after our family of at that time our first & second born of 1 & 3 as if they were their "bairns". The food was so simple but delicious.

A dram at bed time & on the last day they got their son, a true highlander, to done his Kilt & all the trimmings & what a sight. Well built he looked maginificent all in their little living room with a low celing in a typical croft cottage. A time never forgotten.

Ah, but for you, this is work. After my 50 hrs of talking to twonks a week, this is some of what I do to relax. I have never thought of model making as work (mainly because I'm not good enough at it). Also, if I end up half cut, I've got an excuse for sticking my sausage like fingers together!

Even though I consider myself to be English, my mother was from the highlands. I was posted up to the north of Scotland with the RAF. I left in 2007 and had to make a choice. Oil rigs or whisky industry. Wanting to see my family every day I chose whisky. I am now a certificated mashman/stillman. My whisky collection is growing and I do sample it from time to time

For to night we have 12 Scottish Longustines as a treat selfishly shared only between Pauline & myself.

Followed by an Oban Malt. Been to the distillery there tasted & done it. Also Stewart country close to my heart.

Stayed in a Hotel midway between Oban & Fort William on the borders of the sea loch with all these lovely Longustine. The Hotel was the Stewart Clan Chiefs house. If I had millions it would be now.
