Looking at the breadth of interest on here is amazing i just would like to know what everybodys primary interest is

1 plastic scale aircraft

2 plastic scale ships

3 plastic scale military (ie tanks etc)

4 plastic cars

5 plastic everything

6 flying model aircraft

7 r/c ships subs etc

8 r/c cars

9 static scratchbuilt ships

10 static scratchbuilt other

11 r/c military (tanks etc)

12 model railroads

13 model slot cars (racing)

14 all of the above

I can safely say that at some point in my life I have been involved in the making of all of the above!! Makes me feel old!!

Nowadays though mainly R/C boats

Variations

Hello all, with the exception of 12 & 13 (I've also done most of them with vrying degrees of success. Now primarily into R/C Boats but not Subs as yet. There are also many variations within section 7 I don't know if I cpould list all areas adequately.

well i`ve been involved with Rc cars, Rc tanks,RC trucks,die cast cars some plastic models but purely focused on Rc boats and subs

Looking at that list it seems the only thing I've missed out on is the tanks. The first models I did at school were aircraft kits (by Veron & Keil Kraft I think) - a Mosquito comes to mind amongst others. These were lovingly sanded pre-shaped blocks of balsa. I recall the best bit was the sealing and doping! Substance abuse was unheard of in the early '50s! And then someone appeared with a new-fangled plastic kit in a bag. That caused a sensation. Moved onto doing development work for Scalex on their early tin-plate Maseratis and Ferraris shortly after their first Scalextric sets came out.

Nowadays it's all boats - mainly subs. Though I think there's still a couple of Williams F1 cars in the loft. Might dig those out now that the garage is getting cold at night.

Everything on that list except numbers 7,11 & 13 plus a couple of oddities-Scale model penny farthing,scale model caravan complete with awning ! both built for commercial purposes,well it is good to branch out a bit,almost forgot built the wings for a full sized Luton Minor aircraft,well it is only a big model after all ?

There is a guy in Halifax who produces kits of houses, walls, buildings etc from real stone.

I made a dry stone wall which I used as a display base for an old motorcycle model and it looks very effective.

Used to be tanks, plastic models mainly. Got a small r/c one and would love a larger one but cannot justify it.

Now into boats. Prefer r/c to plastic kits but making the former from the latter at the moment.
