discussion Unusual Dora markings?

After sorting something for the 110, I'm now looking for unusual fw190d markings. So far I've managed to find a captured Dora in soviet markings, and the JV44 red underside that's in the box but does anybody know of any documented Dora's in either Allied or non German Axis markings?

I can think of two or three captured by the Americans. I'd have to look up the details but I remember them being very crudely marked with daubed on captured aircraft numbers and roughly applied white stars on over painted German national markings.

There are really good photographs of 'USA 14' which has been magnificently restored in it's original colours as 'Yellow 10'. Unfortunately this one is a D-13.





The Luftwaffe was the only air force to use the Dora so there were none marked with any other axis markings.

Thanks for that, I tried looking through Hannants with various searches for USA and finally came up with

so I'm going for USA 15, as another oddity...

Having looked at a few other sites, the Czech air force apparently used a number of FW190's after the war, but I can't find a list of types. Do you know of any references, as I'm about to acquire an earlier FW190 along with a He177.

USA 15 will make a really cool subject. I'll try and find some pictures for you.

I didn't know the Czech's flew a Fw 190, but I'll see if there's anything tucked away in one of my books. I did find a link to this, but can't vouch for it.

He's done an A-8 which makes sense if it was abandoned at the end of the war. I saw a profile for a Dutch A-7 somewhere, but haven't seen a photo.

A good combination might be a Spitfire parked or flying with a Fw 190, both in Turkish markings as they operated both!
