discussion Verlinden 200mm Richard de Vere Bust

My next bust will be another Derek Holmes offering for Verlinden depicting Richard de Vere, Earl of Oxford, one of the English commanders at Agincourt. The sculpt is obviously based on his tomb effigy:

Just three parts:

As you can see, lots of finely rendered detail, and another of Derek Holmes' characterful faces. Virtually no clean up was required, though I have removed the peculiar thread-like eyebrows.

The two bits look like Mr Potato Heads ears. Chair pulled up in my usual spot with pad and new pencil.

Binned I'm afraid, The eyes were awful. I took a scalpel to them, but only made things worse and ruined the whole face. Next.........
