VW Bus

Hi,
I hope you don't mind me chipping in on what is going to be an awesome build.
I built the camper version last year and the one crucial thing so that the doors align properly is that the bulkhead behind the front seats is 100% correct - ask me how I know.
Good luck and watching from the dress circle with my Garibaldi bikkies and Earl Grey tea.

Thanks Steve. I don’t mind anyone chipping in at all, I always welcome all comments, quotes and advice. Thank you for that tidbit, I was very cautious to make sure I got that bulkhead mounted properly and the right way.

One of the most recognised vehicles in the world. I'll enjoy seeing what you make of this.

Well, at this point, I haven’t made up my mind yet whether I’m going to make it look nice and pretty or old and used.

I'll follow along too.

I did a kit bash of a bus some time ago and have always thought about building another, or probably two, showing pre and post restoration.

I’ve decided to go with the beat up old rusted hippie van from the 60s.. IMG_2235.jpg

I think your very brave painting the parts before assembly. Love the VW Van. Good luck with the rest of the build.

I completed the build and posted six pictures, but somehow they have disappeared.

This is the finished product. I went with the barn. Find of a VW hippie bus. IMG_2248.jpg IMG_2247.jpg IMG_2255.jpg IMG_2252.jpg IMG_2244.jpg

I really like this build , you are braver than me in that I just cannot bring myself to weather/dirty up a newly completed model.😉

It was definitely a difficult thing to do. It wasn’t exactly easy to make this model look like this.
I think I did pretty good considering this is my first try for something like this.
