We lost our Lovely Lottie

Thread owner
I’ve held my last two as they passed. It’s very hard, but I saw it as the last good thing I could do for them.
A lovely thing i feel Tim.They knew you loved them till they drifted to sleep.

The old boy was given a sedative and then given back to us while it took effect. It was quite cathartic to feel him completely relax before he was euthanised. He was in a fair bit of pain from multiple organ failure by then so it was good to feel that we never added to it. The old girl was brighter and more alert. Her back legs and kidneys had failed, but she didn’t have the same degree of pain. She was very close though and went almost as soon as the needle went in. I’m typing this with her young tabby apprentice, another rescue, sitting next to me purring up a storm.

Aww Tim.Sounded so peaceful for your fur babies. We always try and do right thing for them.Heart breaking to say goodbye but they can never say they are in pain.Cats mask things.Lottie might have had an enlarged heart but she could charge around at such speed. She was into everything and so enquisitive and nosey. We didnt want to leave her at vets as she looked so peaceful with eyes open.Grief comes in waves and try to talk about her at her quirky ways and games she liked to play.Such a big hole in our lives and her brother is crying as i write this. They have hardly been apart since birth.
Lottie was little with a purr like a motorbike.
Take care from Rich and Helen.
