Well now I'm between a rock and a hard place supposed to be leaving friday, she's apologised promised a new tractor and a wage rise, and my missus thinks I am being unreasonable not accepting, if I don't I see my life being miserable, and if i do, somewhere down the line I see this happening again.

Good on you Ken, stick to your guns mate and Karma will visit her one dark and stormy night. I recon you will have a new job in no time.

A real quandary you're in, she's turned the tables on you mate now setting the missus against you! But don't be hard on your spouse, after all she's a victim too, whatever decision you should make of course I can't advise you on that, but don't let it ruin your relationship with your lovely wife. She's the most important thing, everything else is chaff..............Jim

Ken, one thing's for sure...This woman will never change. Her falseness will come through the moment you decide to stay in her employ. Then she will be back to her old ways.

To be honest, she sounds a bit unbalanced - very dangerous people!

There are plenty of jobs about. It's usually the people who don't want one who say there are none, preferring to 'Demand their rights' with palms wide open.......

You come over as being very positive about finding a job, that's good, 'cos you will, and I feel sure your missus will stand by whatever decision you come to.

Best wishes and good fortune to you both......

That's a 'devil and the deep blue sea' situation you have there Ken. I'd go along with what the other guys have said though. She sounds like she has no grasp of reality and a new tractor won't fix the basic problems.

The other issue of course is that that type of person never forgets. Change your mind now and she will find ways to get her own back - probably by using your wife as leverage against you - then your life won't be worth living.

Only you and your good lady can decided what course of action to take now. I'd have a good talk between yourselves before making a final decision .

If you do decide to stay you need to negotiate new terms and conditions of your employment. My working hrs over a week amount to 37hrs your should be the same mon-fri or any 5 days from 7.

Specify when your working day starts and finishes and anything after that will be recognised as overtime. And don't be called upon by her for anymore silly errands only stuff deemed as an emergency. Give it a few weeks and see how it goes and if your still unhappy you can secretly look for another job and you will still have all your savings in the bank. Whatever option you choose I wish both of you good luck

Well right or wrong decision made my missus has been up half the night crying, I can't have that, I've told her I will go back, but that she should be prepared for this happening again and next time there will be no going back, we will just have to wait and see if my boss keeps her word.

Hard times, happiness in your work is hard to find. this is a level worse than most deal with.

I Hope things work out for you but I think you should tell the wife it's for the best for you and your dignity and your relationship and it will be better in the long run to leave. At the very least I'd be looking for a new job in the mean time but personally I think you made the right decision to leave.

Best of luck

Seems as though she may have seen the error of her ways, but more than likely a calculated business decision, {hubby may also have put his foot down} brought about by your tough stand and willingness to chuck it if need be. Don't scoff at my "time clock" and structured work schedule suggestion, just explain to her {nicely} that it would keep all involved on the up and up and greatly reduce conflict and stress. Good luck my friend and give the Missus a hug.................Jim:)

Thanks for all the support, I really hope this works, but tbh I very much doubt it, as I said to my missus I would not do this for anyone else and will never do it again.
