Hi all just got back from Scotland left at 6 yesterday morning and had a seven hour journey came back at 12 and just had an eight hours journey, getting too old for this. I recon driving is one of the most mentally tiring things to do. Still I'm back now and am going to pour myself a good stiff whiskey.

Glad you're back okay Ken, have a good long rest................................................right that's long enough get back to ya flying tank. :D

Ken got back at the beggining of the week from London : with a car.

A nightmare dressed in a disaster. M25 is a a massive disaster. 10MPH. Stop start. Stop and you are surrounded by these great pantechnicon wheels. Boy racers in fast cars threading in and out of lanes expecting to gain an inch or two to find with fun they end up 100 yds back. Ouch need a pee !. Can I change lanes to get to the next service station. Wow made it. Just. I think! Yes I did. Close call. Thank God. What a relief. Thinks must chart journey by loo locations in future.

5 and a half hours to cover 165 miles down to Weymouth 90% on fast roads ?????????

Landed on the ferry in Jersey 250 yds and home. Bliss ! 5 mins loo waiting patiently. Yes oh yes such satisfaction getting home.

You should try Farnborough to Forres in Scotland. I used to make that drive twice a year and once from Forres to Toulouse.

Jeez, going from the modelling shed to the house for a pee is long enough...kudos to you guys.

No great place Victorian and Georgian flavour. Great architecture and the area around the harbour entrance is a fascinating area. Great beach and sailing next to none.

Plus Yeovil Lee. There last year very nice place. Sherbourne just a delightful town.

Lived in the area for 30 ish years, don't get me wrong, it all started out good, new adventure and all that but no I steadily grew to hate the place and some of the residents, yeovil seemed a good idea but making friends, living in the area we do...isn't the easiest of things to be doing...Thank god for this move!!!

Ray, as for disliking my post...opinions vary mate ;)

Tut tut! 's a good job there's no real drivers on here - they'd be laughing their socks off! I had a go at driving a few years ago. One of my jobs was from Birmingham to Lossiemouth - and back - in one day; almost exactly 1000 miles. 22 hours and I only stopped three times. Once for fuel on the way up, 10 minutes to tip, and once for fuel on the way back. One of many 20+ hour days I did as a mere amateur. Real drivers will tell you - sleep is for wimps!
