So finished this little Heli today...
It was the day of the dreaded 40+ year old decals, Lol....
They went ok, ish....bearing in mind their age they could have been a lot worse TBH.
I did leave them on a window cill for few days, but they were pretty yellowish.
A sort of film came off them when I placed them in warm water, looks like whatever the this film top coating was...erm, came off!
Then, when I applied them to the model (I also used decal fix and decal sol) a sort of white substance came off them, like a thin white sludge, I'm assuming it was the very old adhesive breaking down?
But the actual decals themselves went on ok, nothing cracked or broke up and I could slide them around with ease, so....
There's deffo some silvering, but as I say, for a 40 year old kit, I'm quite happy with how it turned out....
Here it is with the decals on, not yet had its final matt varnish coat...
Whilst masking up the little windows for its final matt varnish coat, I pressed a bit too hard on one of the window panes, and it gave way and disappeared into the shell, never to be seen again, but I can still hear it rattling around inside!
