Many thanks for the quick answers on my previous post on chips.

I have another question.

I have seen on here that some use Halfords primer? Is this as good as the Tamiya primer that I am using?

Does it work out cheaper to get Halford primer or easier to purchase?

If it is best to get Halfords, Is it Halfords own brand?

Sorry for the daft questions, still new and picking up hints + tips from you guys, hoping to make my models the way I want them to turn out.

Halfords own brand primer would be just fine, be careful with cellulose primer and don't spray the first coat on wet as the cellulose thinners can attack the polystyrene of the model.

It's a funny subject, some use it, some don't, personally I use Humbrol Matte white as a primer almost exclusively, the main reasons for using primer are

A primer coat shows up flaws you could miss, mould lines, joins, indents etc

Primer gives an even surface colour for an even consistent top coat and helps the top coat to adhere better.

Halfords grey and white primers are excellent, and their gloss black. It can be a bit thick though - which can be an advantage or disadvantage, as it can fill minor cracks, or cover up details...

I use Halfords own brand PLASTIC primer. It comes in grey or white. Mist on a couple of light coats and leave it overnight. Brilliant stuff! If I've got any white to do (Luftwaffe mediterranean theatre markings for example) I use the white one,mask those bits and avoid spraying white.

Same as ^^ i use their plastic primer all the time and it dry's so quick. cheap aswel
