I am pretty much in the same boat. I really can't remember what my first one was. I had started when I was around 7. I think it was like a superman or tonto diarama.

My first model (plastic kit) was an Airfix 1/72 155mm Self Propelled Gun. I made a good effort of it too. No paint involved but pretty well assembled and glued together.

The second model I made was a 1/72 Airfix Bristol Bulldog. A part of the tail was missing and I made it up from a piece of plasticard and scored the shape of the airelons on using a scriber. It hung in pride of place from my ceiling for many years gathering lots of dust.

Good stuff...I still have an interest in Artillery and Bristol Bulldogs ever since :)

mine was a bristol beaufighter, cant remeber whos kit it was but i do remember more glue on the outside than on the inside !- i built it with my dad aged about 6 or 7- he never built anymore kits with me after that- he was hopeless.... after that kit it was a case of ' you are on your own from now on son !'

A wooden Spitfire made from a 'Scalecraft' kit, followed by a Kleeware plastic Bell 47G helicopter ( still got it ) then a Revell B-36 mighty bomber, the rest is history........

You do know you've asked this one before don't you?

Mine was an Airfix HMS Suffolk when I was somewhere in the region of 6-7 years old. It wasn't painted but my greatest satisfaction was the fact that the turrets rotated.

My Dad was at work and my Mum was apprehensive as she thought I would make a mess of it. I remember I was very proud of it.
