hi all after some help,

what color wash would you use on gold paint to pickup the detail,?

and to show diffidence lines ?

any help greatly appreciated,

cheers

Moni :D

Diluted Indian ink perhaps?

I use Flory Washes now and don't have any issues as there clay based so can be worked on up to three weeks after application if need be.

Have used Vallejo washes in the past to good effect also.

You may want to test a few different ones to see which one yields the best results.

,as im not to sure if to go for a reddish or brassy wash, ?

as i know or think it was Ken or Si,maybe who was doing some washer on gold and it looked real good,

but just cannot remember what color they used, ;)

I used a black oil wash on my bust and dredd figures and it gave a rustic antique look :)

thks I was kind of thinking along the lines of a black but then got myself

all confused,so ask for advice, ;)

will have a test of a black, and also try a dark brown ,

i did like the gold look on Dredd,

I would go with the brown (sepia) had some good results with the vallejo ones.

On gold leaf mig green brown cammo wash seems to work ok for me moni.

Try a well thinned (very runny, almost water) mix of black and red oil paint on a test piece.

Mini what type of gold paint are you using?

If it is acrylic based then make sure whatever wash you use is oil or enamel.

If it is enamel based then use an acrylic wash.
