discussion What wash to use??

Hi

I've tried using Burnt umber water colour paint on top of a coat of future to create a wash to follow the panel lines etc and dirty the plane surfaces but all it does seems to do is "bead" on the surface and do nothing in particular, should I be using an oil based paint for this purpose?

What do you guys use?

yes an oild based wash is usally best, or even an enamel one. if you do an enamel one over the future you can use enamel thinner/white spirit to clean up and unwanted bits and it wont effect the future as its acrylic based.

I use a thin oil wash. It seems to work pretty well, providing it goes over a nice glossy acryic coat.

Hi I also use the Promodellers wash its great easy to use and not oil based . It comes in too shades.
