Hi all my birthday is due in October which should I pick Airfix 1/24Typho or Tamiya enterprise, ships is my preferred subject but I am getting into planes I honestly can't decide obviously the 1/24 typhoon is well detailed but I am not sure my eyesight would do it justice but also the enterprise would not stop at the ship (the am planes and what not)but I would not be able to paint them to do justice to them help. Or do I just pick. 5or6 model cars which would amount to the same.

Ken I would go for the tiffy , the large scale is a bonus for us who's eyesight is going and the detail is nice and big so there's less chance of a mistake :)

personalty i'd say Airfix 1/24 Typhoon, it looks a great kit out of the box!

Like you, i stuggle with my eyesight a bit, and am really struggling on a 1/48 atm (1/24 is my norm....)

1/350 would drive me up the wall tbh haha ;)

I have to say I've enjoyed building the Enterprise, my friend bought me loads of extra aircraft for my birthday and I've been busy filling out her decks. I've nothing against the Typhoon but it seems every man and his dog is building one right now so you could wait and see what they build and when perhaps different decals become available you could do a different model.

Wouldn't you know it I have just gone back on that site and it's sold out, and apparently it's now discontinued so I have been looking at Cornwall model boats site. What a stupid thing to do.

This is my list of which I can't decide.

Academy Warspite

Academy Tirpitz

Heller Le Suriot (to go with the titanic)

Revell Vasa

Revell La Reale

Tamiya Mogami

Nautilus (don't know the manufacturer )its nemos sub

My missus says I can spend upto £100 and I know it's mad but I am off to look at more model sites now.

The academy warspite is a fantastic kit the Tirpitz is not mind you if you want a good Tirpitz then there is none better than the revell 1/350 one it's the dogs danglies :)
