Tamiya list the decal sheets of their kits as seperate items..does anyone know where i can buy spare sheets??

I've looked online but all i get back from google are ads for decal scissors or links to posts like this!!

Cheers

All Tamiya kits come with decals but you can get after market decals I stock a few or look at hannants they have a large range.

Thanks, but i wanted original ones that come in the box as several of the tamiya decided to self destruct upon contact with air/light/water.

Try the UK agents:

that would be great, ive emailed them but dont expect a reply.

the kit number is 14082, the Honda NSR 599 Nastro Azzuro. there are 3 deal sheets in the kit. i think the one i need is decal sheet 'A' (although this isnt specified ANYWHERE on the sheet).part numbers for the sheets are:

sheet A 1401190

sheet B 1401191

Sheet C 1401193

the sheet i require is whichever one has the name sponsors decals..im guessing sheet A but i have no idea.

ive literally 5 minutes ago placed some drops of tepid water onto the tail piece main decal as it was such a wrinkled mess....I watched it crack and split before my very eyes...unbelievable..shocking quality. there were pieces floating away on the surface tension of the water droplets...shocking.

is this what i have to expect every time i build one of these bikes? if so i can see some modelling equipment up for sale pretty shortly...the front fender has 6 decals alone!

the only way i can think of to resurrect the model short of buying an entire kit just for the decal sheet (which isnt going to happen) is to try and remove the damaged decals, strip the tailpiece, repaint and simply apply the racing number decals..ok its not authentic, but neither is having a wrinkled, cracked eye sore all over the model...

suggestion..why dont Tamiya provide 2 sets of decals seeing as they are so fragile??

or make them of reasonable quality??

just a thought.

Tamiya decals are NORMALY good and do what is needed. As I have said in the other post, it could be that they have been stored in to warm and dry conditions. I have built a few Tamiya kits and of the 100 or so I think I have had problems with the decals in perhaps two of them.

Don't let it get you down. Model making is a challenge. OK I know that such things are a total bind. Wait and see what Hobby co say, as meggsy has already said they are quite helpful.

Looking at the two bikes you have posted on here, it looks as if you have the touch, so take a deep breath, put the kit down and walk away. an hour, a day, even a week. Heck I have a kit that is 99% built that has been living in its box for the best part of six months as I got the hump with it!!

I stand corrected, I thought with the amount of time it took me to get a trade account they didn't supply the general public.
