Bit like what the title says. Which Sd.Kfz 251 versions would have been used in the Ardennes offensive?

do you mean Ausf A, B, C or D?.......................or do you mean things like versions with cannon or ambulance or flammenwerfer etc?

Hi Alan,
According to the Book "Duel in the Mist" Vol. 3 pg. 133 the table at the bottom of the page refers to 251 D
types used as: 251-1, -3,-7,-9,-11,-17- and -21. Hope this helps. :thumb2: ps. That was in La Gleize.

In some ways finding out this information just means i have to buy more kits and plan another dio :) lol

I know the feeling Alan, I have been planning an Ardennes Dio for years, hence the quick response to your question. Rick H.

Sounds good Alan hope you get it off the ground. Thanks Rick for the info now I know who to message if I need help building a model for the Ardennes. Ardennes Battle Always fascinated me one of my Highlights of the war. I’ll leave now so you can carry on.

As the Heer was scraping the bottom of the barrel to bring divisions up to snuff, even some prototype 251s were seen in use. 17s had mostly replaced 10s as pltn. ldr. tracks & 21s had replaced 1s in some HMG TO&Es. 16s were often seen in the company of 7s as they both were in Pioneer TO&Es. 3s & 11s were part of most armd. Stabs (HQ sections). HTH.

A. Kits cost money
B. SWMBO moans at more kits arriving
C. Finding tine to build said kits
D. It's armour and therefore WAY out of my comfort zone lol
Excuses, excuses - more training required here :tears-of-joy:

I’ve never built one of their Sd.Kfz 251s, based on their other kits I suspect they fit well and have good detail, but will be a little fiddly to build due to the small parts.
