Just got home playing catch up.

Hang on Adrian, much as I appreciate the compliiment, there is no such animal as the 'Best modeller' here or anywhere else.

Everyone has their own skill / competence level that they are happy with, some will be better or not so good as others, that's life.

I might make a good effort at one aspect of modelling and be only average at another, that goes for everyone on this Forum, and I know no one will take offence, 'cos it's a fact.

I'm not being rude, but I find being mentioned as 'the best' very embarrassing and to be sort of put on a pedestal. As will anyone else who's name is mentioned on here.

Please don't think I'm being a bit abrupt, I don't mean to be, but in a nut shell, we are all equal here, we make models for fun, share tips and mistakes, not to be better than the next....

There are, I believe, other Forums where modellers do think they are the best and count rivets to try and prove it. Scale Models on the other hand is one big happy family of like minded people, all happy, all equal and all learning!

I realise you had nothing but good intentions Adrian, but please, no more!

I notice that this thread of Adrian's hasn't been added to since my contribution, so I thought I had better clarify something...

When I ended my post to Adrian's thread with "Please, no more!" I didn't have my 'Moderator's hat on' implying that the thread was closed, far from it!

I think most people would agree with what you have said Ron. It is an understandable comment from Adrian if he enjoys your models and builds so much but I agree with you, there is no such thing as 'best' modeller on this forum. We all like to do our best and we all like to get, and give, great comments from our peers, that is human nature. However, I think I can safely say that this is the most democratic, equal minded, least nit picking forum there is. On that basis, Scale Models is THE best forum, we are just the people that help to make it that. So Adrian, don't feel bad, Ron is a great modeller and he knows it but none of us are here to claim any prizes or accolade, we are just here to share and enjoy our hobby.

Having said that Adrian, it was a very nice thing for you to say.

I have to agree with what has been said by Ron And Graham, as there are many good modellers here that are always willing to give help and advice to those that are trying to achieve much better results for themselves. Even though Adrian's intention was honourable this is not really that sort of forum where individuals are looking for that sort of praise, but just pleased to be part of something much greater.
