Needing some Tamiya dark earth for the Spitfire BoB GB none GB I decided to put in an order online rather than waiting till the next time I get to go to the big city to buy some.

At the same time I ordered a bucketload of paints for a Tamiya Sherman i've just gotten, (though the planned build won't be urgently occurring), and a couple of Mig pigments, (first time trying so looking forward to those)

Just gotten a confirmation mail with a list of the paints being dispatched now and wouldn't you just know it, all but two are on the first dispatch list and one of the two being delayed, (obviously awaiting stock) is XF52, flat earth.

So all the ones I don't need urgently for the Sherman as that'll be sitting on the pile until after xmas are winging their way.

Oh well, if I get fed up enough I do have Humbrol enamel flat earth.

I may have a XF52 flat earth hidden in the depths of the shed, if your interested you can have it as i'm swapping over to vallejo and only got odd pots of tamiya now. Let me know and i'll check tomorrow.

Cheers

Well, if you have one you'd otherwise be getting rid of i'm certainly not going to say no and thankyou very much Darren.

i'll sort the postage for you of course.

Ordinarily the wait wouldn't bother me, (i'm used to ordering and waiting for certain materials as I can only get Humbrol enamels locally), but for the fact i've already painted in the wrong brown, stripped and really keyed up about getting it painted again.

On the paint note, if you have more serviceable jars of Tamiya let me know what you have and I might be able to relieve you of more of them, am happy to come to some arrangement for reimbursement for you.

The Vallejo seem popular, one of the ones i'm waiting for is Vallejo Ivory, (none of the other acryls seem to have ivory), and that'll be a first try for me.

Cheers,

Mike

Devil's advocate speaking. Is Tamiya flat earth a good match for RAF dark earth? I've heard not but I don't use Tamiya myself. I've seen all sorts of strange mixes of Tamiya colours to achieve dark earth.

Being a relatively new convert to Tamiya Acryl, (before restarting I used Humbrol enamels and only used tamiyas clear red / orange / yellow etc for lights), according to my colour conversion chart XF52 is the equivalent of Humbrol 29 both called flat earth.

I'm not too fussy about 10% accuracy and know it'll be better than the dark brown I accidentally used, only started to use acryl matte for their curing time compared to enamel.
