A Russian Helicopter came down at an airshow Polux that may be the one. Also in England one of a pair at an airshow, performing, crashed. Another aircraft at another show (not air display) came down in the car park. To all accounts some of Bin Laden's family were on it. all 4 passengers were killed. A bad weekend.Originally posted by \Oh! Yesterday I saw some images on the TV showing and helicopter accident, I think it was an Apache...but not sure, I just captured the final notice

PS if it was an Apache it must have been a Revell Monogram.

The jet with the Bin Ladens onboard was at Blackbushe a few miles from me, it wasn't a show. It crashed into British Car Auctions.Originally posted by \A Russian Helicopter came down at an airshow Polux that may be the one. Also in England one of a pair at an airshow, performing, crashed. Chap called Colin Dougie who was a member of this forum. He introduced it to the forum.Originally posted by \I like your idea of the grit shaker, where did you come up with or steal that from!
I christened it Grit Colin. Do not know if any body else uses it. Great for those pieces which
are very difficult to wet and dry.
Needs some better grit as there is not enough small stuff. Works well. Got a dentist's
vibrator and stick a round plastic box on it switch on for 4 mins and comes up really smooth and dull.
Latest I did with just a hand shake.
Gives primer a good grip.

I have a similar box........ But I use old "shot" from our Shotblasting Contractor........... If you have a shotblasting company thereabouts go pay them a visit. They have heaps of the stuff which is no good to them.Comment

Yes. I find that the Hasegawa kits offer under detailed cockpits, but excellent fit and fantastic panel lines.

Not the same thing Laurie......... Shotblasting companies use a grit, different grades depending on the job whether they are descaling heavy rust or frosting glass. The grit has sharp edges. After a while the edges wear down and is not so effective......... That is called "Used Shot" ........ and pretty much they dump it........... But it's ideal for fine abbraiding in a shaker (Colin) box.Originally posted by \Great idea Peter. Have a word with my eldest son. used to be a keen fisherman.

Good tip mate - just be careful what shot you put in your box, especially if Laurie has old his dental vibrator on the go at the same time. The space time continuum may be distorted. Like my mind?Originally posted by \I have a similar box........ But I use old "shot" from our Shotblasting Contractor........... If you have a shotblasting company thereabouts go pay them a visit. Seriously though guys, cheers, I will definitely be giving this a go - with the models as well of course

So going along OK. Very nice model. Nice clean pieces and little to tidy up.
Instructions are not good and a lot of attention is needed especially to cold fit
and make sure all is correct.
