no I use a product called instant rust, it is a two part compound the first is a grey primer with iron fillings in it. Apply one coat leave for one hour then apply another and leave to dry overnight. The second part is an oxidization liquid and you apply the liberally all over the grey and within two hours the plastic starts to rust, you can apply as many coats as you want to get the look you are after.

Hi all I have a further update to the bmp, I have added a further application of the oxidation liquid to random areas, tell me what you think.

Very effective Scott. Didn't Deluxe Materials, makers of Perfect Plastic Putty, do something like this? I will have to do a search.
