I cut the shiny box lid into squares and use them as paint and glue pallets.I keep all the unused parts and cut up the Sprues for use as paint stirrers. And I'm another who doesn't like the Revell end opening boxes. So when I'm about to build one I transfer the contents to an old top opening tray type box.
What do you do with the kit boxes?

Parts & decals all go into a large plastic box that previously housed a well known brand of chocolates, decent bits of sprue get shoved in a box with paint brushes and the rest gets recycled.Comment

I just normally put them in the recycle bin but should have kept the last one (Fiesler Storch) as it would have been a good box for the Revell BF109G6 as is usual with Revell it has a side opening lid. The spare decals and unused parts I keep just incase I need them for a future build.

I keep the boxes and any left over bits together and 'file' them in the loft. That way if I need, say, a blown canopy for a Fw 190 I know it will be in one of a few boxes rather than in a heap with spares from everything else.
I keep instructions in the box too.
Unused decals go into freezer bags and then get boxed by nationality. I often use spare decals, rarely spare plastic.
About once every few years senior management forces a rationalisation programme upon me and I have to consolidate the spare plastic and recycle some boxes. I try to keep the spare plastic by type (Bf 109, Spitfire etc) but sometimes lump some together by nationality.
I've never taken much interest in box art, though I do retain a soft spot for the action packed art work that used to grace the old Aifix kits. Some of that was seriously good and I used to like the bombs raining down, smoke and flames etc
Cheers
