I did do a lot of motor cycleing until last year and gave it up for the safer hobby of flying model planes as well as building scale planes. I also did a lot of Clay pigeon shootong up until about 16 months ago when i became a member of a pigeon control society, now i shoot the real things as crop protection for various farms on our books. I may occassionally shoot clays but not very often. Enjoy going to model shows and displays. While i mention it there is a show on next weekend at Long Marston near Strarford. Went last year was a good day out.
Motor biking, inert ordnance collecting, guitar and general militaria. I have had an interest in tattooing playing at the back of my mind for a while now, so if that continues, I may start off that hobby next year.
Apologies for the late reply... was at a wedding yesterday.. not the royal one unfortunately! Well model building is something I got into when I was off recovering from a sinus operation, since I couldnt do much moving around. From then on I have taken a particular interest in it as I already have an interest in militaria and WWII. Used to collect the odd piece but dont really do that anymore. What small collection I have is enough. The sinus problems at the moment (allergic rhinitis) have curtailed my running and rugby playing at times, but do play the odd game when I am physically able. Started motorbike lessons last year, got my CBT and theory out the way but waiting til I move house before I go for the week intensive course to get my bike license (other half permitting!!). In the Winter I go snowboarding if we get a decent dump of snow in Scotland. Try to do a bit of photography but still trying to figure out my camera after 2 years of having it!
As Flounder just said there are a lot of bikers on this site.I was really into motorcyling from the age of 19 up to 42.Then i had a bad track day accident 11years ago on my Aprilia RSV1000.As a result of one of my injuries i have a metal elbow joint and considerably less strength in my right arm. This has put an end to my biking and left a bit of a hole im my life at first.I know some people carry on riding with one arm,but i decided to call it a day.My other love is aviation, which is why i build model aircraft.I joined the RAF at 17 and spent 13 years as an airframe fitter on Phantoms. After leaving the mob i did the same job in Saudi for the next 7 Years on their Tornado's.Im now a B1 licensed engineer (thats engines,Airframe and electrics)at Southend airport.Working on Boeing 737,757 and Airbus A320/321.I do a fair bit of overtime to pay the bills but manage to spend an hour or so most evenings modelling in my shed.My other passion / hobby is going to watch Southend United play football.
Hi all, yes it is me. Not been at the bench for ages because i've been in the garage, very interesting thread to read this. And a good few bikers too, well i've just add one more (well i was). I had Suzuki GS 500E (popcorn maker) that i got in bits & pieces, rebuilt it and the Doc told me "no riding bikes". So that kicked that in the head.

Some of you may have seen my baby before and the reason i've been away for a while, there is no way the Doc is going to stop me driving her. It's only the 1.6 Calypso but she very good on fuel and put's a smile on my face when i do get to drive her. I've had the 2.8i's before but due to ill health i don't what to go fast anymore, i just what to enjoy it. And to be honest, if i had another 2.8i i'd go and do something stupid that i couldn't get myself out of lol.

Just of late i've been getting into photos and image manipulation, just to add something more to my models. Don't what to alter the models themselves, just change the background a little. And you never know, i might get into these computer thingy's.
Another motorcyclist here,my first love! I have a Kawasaki ZX10R a Honda cb 450 and just got rid of a Kawasaki zx9r c1. love going to watch bike racing . Regularly go to the Isle of Man TT. Been toying with the idea of getting an enduro bike as well and getting out to do a bit of green laning . Enjoy a bit of mountainbiking too.
Watching movies, playing PC-Games, cooking, eating, tossing junior around and browsing the inter-web for model stuff dreaming of some day getting enough time and space to get cracking again. If I leave my unfinished projects for much longer I wouldn't need to worry about how to do the weathering any more.
I like playing the guitar, playing racing simulation games (mostly Gran Turismo 5) and riding a bicycle for distances that are probably too big for my own good.
My one and only excursion with a 'motorbike?' was when I owned a Honda 90 some 30yrs ago....I rode past a lay-by full of 'Itinerants' and a whippet ran at me, I bowled it over and fell off my steed. The dog ran off into some woods and I lay on the ground with the bike reving it's balls off a few feet from me.
Whilst I lay counting and feeling my bits and bobs (Yes, everything!) the owner of the dog came over and wielding a crowbar threatened to remove my head "If you've kilt me dog!"
I pushed what was left of the Honda 3mls back home and slung it...end of biking!
Nowadays for a buzz, I drive my wonderful Panther 2.8i V6 two seater car, go walkabout in the Welsh Mountains and paddle my canoe on the River Dee just a few minutes from home.
Oh, and milk my free Welsh bus pass for all it's worth! lol
Best thing ever was a year ago getting rid of the T.V. licence. Me and the present Mrs. Ron just didn't realise what a chunk that thing was taking out of our lives, no more though!
how the hell are you going to know whats going on in eastenders?
That's easy. Everyone is sleeping with other peoples wives, they're still skint but can afford to go to the pub every night for a pint and a fight. There you go. Sorted lol
For me its playing golf badly as been mentioned by a few of the lads , football - followed Chelsea home & away & abroad from 1983 - 2004 as a season ticket holder , then raced karts at MSA level for 4 yrs , ran out of money needed a hobby so went back to my childhood hobby and this is where I`m at now - never been happier
so my interests are - motor racing - football - golf - modelling - reading only fact stuff ie- war things like the forgotten voices books etc and above all my boys Oliver aged 9 and Samuel aged 3
I lived on my own for a couple of years (wife had to move in to care for her dad, and not enough room for me...huray! I didn't bother with a TV licence as I find all programes to be totaly s**t. Amazing what you can get done without the noise of a TV in the background.
