I just wear old clothes or something along those lines, I don't really think you'd need anything costlyComment

The only time I put anything special on is if I am doing lots of tiny PE type things. I have an old jewellers apron (which is black) I find it has saved me loads of trips under the bench to find bits that have pinged off. Otherwise its just the normal jeans.

My wife knows me as the butcher Steve.
Yes I have the regulation storemans jacket. But relegated it to the back of the door after wrecking two pairs of trousers. When sitting down it parted at thigh level and exposed my trousers.
So to Amazon I did go and got a butchers apron. Nice blue and white stripes. Easy to sling on. It has a lot of paint on the front side but nothing has come through on the side nearest the body. It is cotton but is very closely woven. From memory about 6 or 7 pound. If you do go for an apron get one with a good length. I remember measuring to make sure it came well over my knees.

I tend to work the other way around. Every morning jeans go on but I put something smarter on if we go out. That way I'm always dressed for messing around the house no matter what I'm doing. Mind you a boiler suit goes on if I'm doing something really messy.Comment

I remember buying my woodwork apron for school. Just a simple bleached cotton apron with a waist tie. They were pretty cool and very cheap but probably no longer available at school outfitters anymore. We can't have little Johnny nicking his finger with a chisel can we, someone will want to sue the school!!Comment
