Yes i saw the Cat post.I found it cruel.I love cats and when we lost one in August i.was heartbroken. So many were kind enough to P.M support.I wont forget that and im always here for others.Lets not dwell on the matter and just move on fellas. No point getting into a tizzy over it.Its nice if people think they could discuss problems.Comes down to if you cant say anything nice say nothing.

This forum is the best. Best for modelling tips, help, advice whatever, and so so much more. I am inpressed with the level of empathy on this site, especially as it's mostly blokes and apparently blokes aren't good at talking and listening to personal problems. Well they are here.

Lets move on chaps..There are still a lot of good hearted people on here. Its sad to see others go but its their choice.I dabble in a few forums.I dont post on many but gladly encourage others work.Looking at models here etc helps to keep my interest levels up.The mojo is lacking and i sure wish i had the pure love of models like i did in 70s.But times were different then and i just built Matchbox kits Glue everywhere and no paint but i loved my models. As a small child id have a model to build next to my pillow at night.A long story and childhood trauma. As long as we have a little nucleus of others we can laugh with,Have banter and empathy then its win win my friends.
Never forget i always have time for you all.Im only a P.M away.
All the best to you all always.

Just in case any of the leavers are stalking this thread, here are a couple of gratuitous cat pictures. Firstly the one that likes to sleep on my Mum's decking even though it lives next door....

I’ve never been lucky enough to have a cat, I’d really like one but my partner is allergic so it’s not really possible.
I do really like them though so keep the photos coming gents and I can admire your feline friends 😊

              Geoff.

i used to be....eyes used to close up.....constant sneezing...hard to breathe but no more

When my late wife moved in with me she said she would get rid of Tiff cos of my allergy but i consider pets are for life so wouldnt let her........i was bad for about 6 weeks till i built up a tolerence......now i have no problem......Jessie was mega floofy and wanted cuddles daily so i was always covered in cat hair and up close to her....never had a problem

Aww they are lovely. We used to have a fluffy black cat Elvis who used to wait for a stroke near my wifes car.He lived in next road.He was old and one day he appeared and we both gave him a big stroke and sadly we never saw him again.I think he came to say goodbye to us and thank us for always making a fuss of him

Guys, what is happening to everyone, I can't believe the sniping and ill feeling just because some guys decided to leave this forum. They were all good guys and still are. I have also opened an account on the forum they have joined and it is similar in structure to how this site used to be. The members there made us welcome just as you guys did when we all joined a few years back.

I will be staying here as there are some great people on here but will also be using the other one as well so please stop the ill feeling it does you no credit.

I have noticed that the logged in sessions do not seem to last as long as they did on the old forum. I am normally logged on in the kitchen on my laptop, on my PC in my modelling den and for the hat-trick also on my smartphone. Going up and down the stairs regularly between the two locations, I now find that I am having to login repeatedly during the day. Any chance of increasing the length of session before the system axe falls and logs us out again?

I've been chasing support about the image issue, they have finally got back to me

Our Developers have them however they've been tasked with other priority items that affect a wider customer range before they can resolve the issue with the importer for these images.

I have spoken to them and they had been hoping to resolve this this week however the other task has taken longer than anticipated. I'll speak to them again today to try and obtain an update.

John, I don't mind entering my details when first logging onto this forum in the morning, as I use a Password Manager. It is the fact that I am continually being logged out during the day that irks me. That never used to happen with the old forum setup and ticking the "remember me" box doesn't stop the logging out. BTW, I use identical browsers on my two computers (Firefox, which is up to date v.131.0.2).

First thing each morning, as a matter of course, I visit three modelling forums (ATF, Britmodeller and Scale Models) plus eBay and Amazon, all having their own browser tabs. All of the sessions for each site have remained open from the previous day and remain open all day - except for Scale Models. Today, I have been in the kitchen all morning and spending long times on my laptop. I logged in to Scale Models as usual but after spending some time on other forums, I have returned to my Scale Models session and I find that it has expired and I have been logged out - again. So, here I am, just logged in again.

I've not had to login since my first visit. I'm not sure about anyone else, but it sounds like a local setting. Using Chrome on a Macbook Pro.

                        1. Are you using a bookmark to get to the site? If so is it still the old domain? 2. Try clearing your browser cache see if that helps

                      Hi John,

My browser cache gets cleared whenever I logoff and I also have an up-to-date bookmark. However, since I last reported on my experiences at lunchtime, the Scale Models session on my laptop has remained live for the past ten hours as I found out to my relief when I came into the kitchen to scan a document using my laptop. This is despite not changing a single thing I just left this forum session open as a test. It seems to be working okay now but having worked in IT for decades and used the Internet since before PCs came along, I know such things happen, thankfully less often nowadays.

                      Thanks for your assistance.

                      Dave
