Well, I like to fish even though I don't get out that much these days, I do like my gardening as well.
I have also be known to take the odd photo...


I too know my way around the kitchen. So when the model mojo wains, I have enough to fall back on.

My other hobby, which has been my main hobby for 50 years, is cosmology and astronomy. I like to take photographs through my scope of the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn, also nebula and star clusters. Today astronomy has become very computerised and that makes life so easy. For example, all I have to do is face my scope North aimed at the Pole star and punch in the time and date, it will then pick a star that it knows is handy for me to observe then centre on it and ask me to fine tune centre it in the eyepiece, it will do this with one more star and then it knows very precisely exactly where it is. It already knows the type of scope and will pick the best objects for me to view tonight. Alternately I can ask it to find me an object, such as Neptune say, and it will automatically slew round to it and centre it in the eyepiece. I do not always use the eyepiece, sometimes I plug in a digital camera which plugs into my laptop and I view images on that and use it to take videos for later converting into photos. Awesome! I want one!!!! sorry to see you've been relegated to the outdoors. Win-Win as I see it!

It's nice to have somewhere to retreat to with solitude and silence when things indoors get a bit tiresome. I even go out there when it's cloudy, I just sit down, switch on the radio and tinker about cleaning my eyepieces and generally messing about for no good reason. Very relaxing.

Beautiful models Graham, they look great. One thing, the Clerget engines are amazing, but I am not familiar with the ones built for the church

Something else I meant to ask. All those underwater pictures you drew. How did you keep your paper from getting soaked and falling apart? While I'm on the subject, I might as well ask how you managed to hold your breath long enough to draw the pictures.

I'm an avid woodworker. I like to build furniture, especially display cabinets for models. I don't do it much these days because woodworking and modeling don't get on to good together (to dusty).
